Day of the dead – eller De dödas dag på svenska – är en religiös högtid i Mexiko som infaller årligen den 2 november. Högtiden har sitt ursprung från den förspanska kulturerna i Mesoamerika och är en blandning mellan allhelgonahelgen och skördefester.rnNuförtiden har De dödas dag tagit intryck från Halloween-traditionen i grannlandet USA och tagit intryck därifrån. Det är därför numera vanligt att man klär ut sig och barnen knackar på dörrar för att få små gåvor, pengar eller godis. Day of the Dead kan även syfta på en skräckfilm med zombies från 1985 med samma namn.
